Gallery Overhaul

Sun Jun 29, 2008, 4:06 PM
I'm going to be completely overhauling my gallery so that it's more of a portfolio of my best work. A lot of images will be scrapped or deleted, depending on how much I like them and their popularity.

My Flickr account is going to take over as my primary gallery, so be sure to bookmark me! I got some amazing shots from a cutting competition this last weekend.

I'd also like to thank all my watchers -- your support means so much to me.

I can't wait to see it when everything is done! I have been thinking about doing this as well, and have noticed so many people leaving to flickr. I don't know much about it though. Is flickr a community like dA, or is it more of just a gallery?

It's kind of both. It was originally started for photo-sharing, I believe, but has grown into a big art community. There are all kinds of amazing photographers on there. You can comment and fave shots, join groups and discussions, all kinds of stuff. If you're willing to pay $24.95 for a pro account, you can have an enormous gallery and special organizing capabilities. I like it, personally. It's easier to upload multiple photos at once, which is why that's becoming my main gallery and DA is going to be more of a portfolio. I know a lot of the equine photographers from DA are on there -- Jill Sahner, Payton Adams, Jaye Tatone, and more.
